BENEFICIARIES: Piticot Placement Center, Periș – Ilfov; Placement center - no.4 Tâncăbești – Ilfov; Garofița and Roxana family type children's homes.

IDENTIFIED PROBLEM: The lack of strictness is found in vulnerable groups of children in placement centers.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES: To improve the situation of children in the placement center.

ACTIVITIES: Granting of clothes, toys, sweets, children's books, food, fruit, bed sheets and towels for 14 preschool and school children, as well as for young people between the ages of 20-38.

HUMAN RESOURCES INVOLVED:

• Involvement of the members and volunteers of the "Lio Association" and of the Health Aid Romania Foundation
• Clothes and toys from organizations donors

TARGET GROUP: children from the Piticot, Tâncăbești Placement Center and from the Garofița and Roxana Family type Children's Houses

EXPECTED RESULTS: Children will benefit from clothes and toys, sweets, children's books, food, fruit, bedding and towels.

The Piticot Placement Center from Periș for children with disabilities in Ilfov County is located in the building of the former Periș Municipal Hospital. The center has been rehabilitated and modernized with the funding of the Ilfov County Council and operates under the subordination of the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection Ilfov. The unit has a capacity of 18 places, but at present, only 14 children are institutionalized. They are between 2 and 15 years old, have severe disabilities and either come from disadvantaged families or they do not have families. All are enrolled in school or kindergarten, as the case may be. Within the center, they have both a special education and training program that they carry out under the coordination of the respective specialized personnel, an educator (who is an employee of the center) and the psychologists from the DGASPC, as well as a recreational program. During leisure, children learn to dance, paint, color, draw, make various toys, decorations and other objects. The nurses and a family doctor of the unit are mainly cared for by their health.
Placement center no. 4 Tancăbești is a social assistance institution, organized within the structure of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Ilfov, under its functional composition, without legal personality. The administrative headquarters of this establishment is located in Tâncăbești village, Snagov commune, Ilfov county. The Center provides social services with temporary title, with accommodation, with the role of ensuring the raising, care and rehabilitation of children with severe disabilities, temporarily or permanently separated from parents, as a result of establishing the placement measure under the law.
